Events & Exhibits

Auction and costumes and music, oh my!
Save your pennies, hatch mad costuming plots, and practice your best dance moves, because we're shaping up a very exciting Saturday evening for Fiddler's Green!

It looks to us as if the Fiddler's Green CBLDF Benefit Auction will be an extravaganza beyond all expectations! We've received some delightful, amazing, and extraordinary donations to support this event and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund--a partial list is available here, and more donations are still being offered. Anyone who'd like to donate an item should please send a note to with details, and we'll happily respond.

The auction starts at 7:30 pm Saturday.

After the auction will be the Masquerade Ball, with Folk UnderGround performing! Folk UnderGround is a Minneapolis band made up of Lorraine Garland (aka "The Fabulous Lorraine") on violin and vocals, Trevor Hartman on accordion, drums, horns and vocals, and Paul Score on guitar and vocals, who describe themselves as a "rogue folk trio." They've performed at First Avenue in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, and DemiCon XV. Their new CD, Buried Things, features three songs with lyrics by Neil Gaiman (including the eponymous "Folk UnderGround") and another with lyrics by Jane Yolen. We're thrilled to have them play for us, and we guarantee they'll get your toes tapping!

The Masquerade Ball is an opportunity to dress up as your favorite Sandman character or to simply glam up. Or just come as you are, and join us in enjoying Folk UnderGround and generally making merry.

We're working on other special events, too. We might hunt up and screen an interesting film or three, or assemble the questions for a truly wicked trivia contest, or, well, who knows what we might come up with? We're working on possibilities, and will post more information as we have it.

Dinner with a Fiddler's Green Guest of Honor!
The winners of the Fiddler's Green Guest of Honor dinner lottery have been announced.
